Dr. Rochell was an Illinois state champion gymnast, winning the still ring competition in both 1966 and 1967. He continued gymnastics through his college career at Stanford, becoming an All-American. His athletic career combined with his interest in engineering and architecture led him to his career in orthopedic surgery.
In 1981 Dr. Rochell founded Crystal Lake Orthopedics. He believes that each patient presents a problem and set of circumstances that may require a unique solution. With this in mind he draws from 28 years of experience and cutting edge technologies that include minimally invasive, total and partial replacements, and bone conserving techniques.
Dr. Rochell has significant experience with the SignatureTM Total Knee System. Utilizing a preoperative MRI of the knee, hip and ankle, custom guides are developed that optimize implant orientation such that the mechanical axis of the extremity is restored. Not only does this customization allow for a less invasive surgery, but also implies longevity and durability.
